Meet Our Seminarians St. Hubert has been designated a “Teaching Parish” by Mundelein Seminary, the graduate school of theology of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Last week we met our three seminarians who the Seminary assigned to St. Hubert to get involved in parish life and to be a part of our community. Here is some background on Ryan Brady and David Jameson. We’ll be hearing from Tom Heathershaw during Seminary Weekend on September 23-24.
Ryan Brady Archdiocese of Chicago, First Year Theology Program
My name is Ryan Brady. I’m from St. Christina Parish in the Mt. Greenwood neighborhood of the southwest side of Chicago. I graduated from Marist High School in 2001 and from Loyola University Chicago in 2005. My first two years at Loyola, I studied at St. Joseph College Seminary.
Before entering Mundelein Seminary, I managed the Development office of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago. On Saturdays, I would serve as sacristan at Holy Name Cathedral. Both jobs gave me excellent perspectives on the Church. I was able to witness the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy daily. I was also very close to the Sacraments.
Thanks to those two wonderful careers, and 14 years after leaving college seminary, I’ve finally understood and responded to the unmistakable call of Jesus Christ to priesthood. I’m very grateful to be at St. Hubert Parish. I look forward to journeying with you and to learn from you how to be a holy parish priest for his people.

Focus of Pastoral Experience: RCIA and Faith Formation
My name is David Jameson, and I am studying at Mundelein Seminary for the Diocese of Grand Rapids, Michigan. I was born and raised in Minden, Louisiana. As the son of a Southern Baptist pastor, I grew up attending church, and at an early age I recognized the importance of forming a relationship with Jesus Christ. During my senior year of high school, my family relocated to Phoenix, Arizona where my parents served as missionaries starting churches.
I became involved in international missionary work during my first year in college at Arizona State University. After graduating from college, I moved to Indonesia where I spent several years working with Christian Evangelical missionaries sharing the gospel and planting churches among Muslim people groups. Ultimately, it was those experiences in evangelization and mission work in Indonesia that led me to the Catholic Church. It's really a much longer story, but the bottom line is that in the truth and fullness of our Catholic faith, I have experienced Christ's presence, a deep relationship with Him, and joyful participation in the life that He makes available through the Eucharist and the Sacraments.
Since coming into the Church in 2012, I have become more aware of Jesus Christ's vocational call to the priesthood—a call that I believe has been present in my life even before I became Catholic. Simply stated, it is a call to a life for others. I believe the Lord desires that I give of myself completely so that others may encounter Him and fall in love with Him through the Sacraments of His Church. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you, and I am thankful for the opportunity to explore this calling along with you at St. Hubert.
