Steve Hoover, one of the Assistant Scoutmasters for our Troop 399 was recently presented with the Lifesaving Award by the Boy Scouts of America. At the end of last year Steve was sitting in his desk at work when he heard a crash and a commotion. He heard someone say, “Call 911” and ask if anyone knew CPR. Steve said he did and took over the situation at that point. He quickly determined that the gentleman did not have a pulse and was not breathing. Steve then began CPR. After a few minutes the victim’s eyes opened wide and he took a huge gasp of air. Within a few more minutes, the gentleman regained consciousness and began talking. Steve was submitted for the award and approved. He was presented with the award at an award ceremony a few weeks ago. Troop 399 is proud to have Steve Hoover as one of our leaders.
